Prices for the acquisition of a driver’s license in Ghana would be heavily increased from the July 18th, 2017.
The announcement of the increment was made by the Kwasi Agyemang Busia, head of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA).
Mr. Busia said this hike would help in the facilitation of improved security features on the new drivers’ licenses.
Also, the issuance of the new license would see to a much efficient and timely service being provided to drivers.
Previously, the cumbersome application would take several months and processes but DVLA is confident that the new system would take just about a month.
The DVLA boss said the specific pricing in relation to the various processes to secure a license would be made known to the public before the 18th of July.
Speaking on the pricing, he believes that; “it will be reasonable for the citizenry, but it is going to be more”.
The DVLA has come under a lot of criticism attack the truth of the corrupt activities of the institution was unveiled by ace journalist Anas.
This has been attributed to the stress of waiting in line for several hours through a lot of burdensome procedures for which “goro boys” who act as middle men for applicants have illegally intervened.
The new hike in cost is expected to come which a compliment of an easier and less stressful process.
