Zylofon CEO apologises to Stonebwoy, condemns attack

CEO of Zylofon Media, Nana Appiah Mensah, has rendered an unqualified apology to dancehall artiste Stonebwoy.

He apologised to the artiste for a fracas that occurred at Champs Bar at the Paloma Hotel in Accra on Saturday night.

“I apologize to team @stonebwoyb and all well-wishers for the unfortunate ill incident that occurred,” he tweeted Tuesday.

There was pandemonium at the Champs Bar when Bulldog, who is Artiste and Repertoire (A&R) Manager at Zylofon Media allegedly attacked Stonebwoy and his crew who were holding a mini concert at the venue.

Gunshots rang in the hotel causing panic among guests and hotel staff. Stonebwoy later disclosed that he fired the shots in self-defence.

A younger brother of the musician, who was at the concert was said to have been injured and has made a complaint of assault and theft against Bulldog, born Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, at the Nima Police station.

Eyewitnesses alleged that Bulldog’s men hit Stonebwoy’s brother, snatched his wallet containing an unspecified amount of money and attempted to seize the musician’s Mercedes Benz.

The Champs Bar fracas was one of the many internal and external wranglings between the dancehall artiste and the record label he signed onto in June last year.

Stonebwoy, born Livingstone Etse Satekla, according to reports is on his way out of the label for failing to promote Zylofon Media and also being bitter about the company signing his arch-rival, Shatta Wale.

Mr Appiah Mensah, in his apology tweet, explained that the Champs Bar incident needlessly occurred because “the transport manager exercised a discretion characterized by reflex and over-exuberance. An act I vehemently condemn and discourage from our society.”

The transport manager, Eric Amponsah, has since been fired by the company.

Any pastor who predicts my death will die with me’ – Angry Mzbel warns

Hiplife artiste, Mzbel has sounded a word of caution to the so-called pastors who have made it their habit to predict the doom of celebrities.

Just after the untimely demise of famous musician Ebony Reigns, some pastors and prophets inundated the media with the claim that they predicted the unfortunate incident first.

In fact, some celebs like Akrobeto, Shatta Wale and Lilwin have taken a swipe at these prophets, labelling them fake and therefore their statements should be treated with all the contempt it deserves.

In this regard, Mzbel-real name Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah has said these pastors should make sure they don’t get her involved in any of their prophecies of doom.

She said, “I will leave my house and come and stay with you if you prophesy that I will die. I will come and embrace you so that when death comes it will take all of us.”

Bill Cosby’s daughter Ensa dies aged 44

Ensa Cosby, the daughter of comedian Bill Cosby, has died aged 44, a spokesman for the family says.

She died from a kidney disease in Massachusetts on Friday, according to spokesman Andrew Wyatt.

Last year, she defended her father when he went on trial over allegations he drugged and sexually assaulted a woman in 2004.

The judge declared a mistrial and a new trial will take place in April. Mr Cosby denies the allegations.

Ensa Cosby, who once appeared in an episode of her father’s programme The Cosby Show, is reported to have had health issues in the past.

TMZ, which first reported her death, said she had been in line for a kidney transplant.

She has three surviving sisters – Evin, Errin and Erika. A brother, Ennis, was murdered in 1997 during a failed robbery attempt as he changed his car tyre.

In a statement last May, Ensa, a mother-of-one, said there was a racist motivation for her father’s prosecution.

“My father has been publicly lynched in the media,” she said, adding that the accusations against him were “appalling”.

Mr Cosby, 80, was accused of drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand in 2004. His lawyers had argued the sex was consensual.

Dozens of women say he assaulted them, but statute of limitation rules mean he was allowed to be tried for Ms Constand’s allegation only.

After last year’s mistrial, a new trial is due to begin on 2 April.

Shatta Wale apologises for invoking God’s wrath against media

Shatta Wale has apologised to the media for invoking God’s wrath against all those who criticised the late dancehall artiste Ebony when she was alive.

The controversial musician, born Charles Nii Amarh Mensah, accused the media of blatantly discrediting the artiste on their various platforms.

He did not spare media practitioners in his emotionally packed tribute at the one-week celebration of the late singer at St Martin de Porres School in Dansoman on Sunday.

Speaking to Hitz FM’s Prince Tsegah on Showbiz Fylla, Shatta Wale stated that he was taken over by emotions hence his comments.

Nevertheless, he apologised saying, “…because of people like you [Prince Tsegah] I will apologise. I will also apologise to some of them who felt hurt by what I said…”

However, Shatta Wale urged critics to criticise constructively devoid of hurting the feelings of other people.

He used Ebony as an example stating that critics bashed her on a daily basis just because of a brand she chose for herself.

“…Some people always bashed Ebony and even made fun out of it. You can criticise but don’t make fun out of it. Don’t criticise us too much…,” he noted.

See me for ‘powerful’ deliverance or die prematurely – Prophet ‘advices’ Lilwin

The rate at which some acclaimed men of God go about predicting nothing but death for celebrities is alarming.

Since the sad demise of Ebony Reigns, many prophets claiming to be from God have said they predicted her death.

Now, another pastor is in the news claiming that he has seen in a vision how popular Kumawood actor, Lilwin is going to die soon.

Prophet Micheal Kojo Poku, founder and leader of Fire Time Prayer Ministry is the one making this disturbing proclamation.

According to him, God had shown him in a vision that Lilwin, known in private life as Kwadwo Nkansah, will soon die.

He added that God has also given him some specific directions to be given to the actor, therefore Lilwin needs to see him for a ‘powerful’ deliverance session to avert the looming calamity.

“I saw in a vision that Lilwin has died while I was preaching and God told me that, if prayer sessions are not organized for the actor, he may die prematurely,” Prophet Kojo Poku claimed according to a report by GHGossip.

“Lilwin needs to pass through a powerful deliverance session with me to be freed from the spirits of death hanging around him,” he added.

Meanwhile, Nkansah Lilwin has slammed prophets who claimed they predicted Ebony’s death.

He also called on national security to investigate the prophets for threatening the society with their death prophecies.

It is unclear how the rich actor is going to accept this new development concerning him.

Add God to your music talent – Dr. Lawrence Tetteh advises artistes

International televangelist Dr Lawrence Tetteh has used a memorial service for the late dancehall star Ebony, to urge artistes to give their lives to Christ.

He explained that no matter how gifted a person may be where to spend eternity is critical.

“Nobody will be here in a 100 years’ time,” he told a packed compound of mourners, fans, friends and family at the St. Martins De Porres in Dansoman, a suburb of Accra.

Dr Lawrence Tetteh who is said to be the late singer’s spiritual father testified of Ebony as a talented music prodigy who was trying to develop a relationship with God.

He said it is entirely possible that Ebony could have become a preacher if she had lived any longer.

The televangelist discounted speculations surrounding the tragic passing of the 20-year old star who died along with two friends in a motor accident on the Sunyani-Kumasi road last week Thursday night.

The renowned man of God said anybody can die of any cause including getting choked while drinking water.

He also urged a stop to speculations about Ebony’s eternal destiny saying such matters should be left to God.

Shatta Wale featured prominently in his exhortation as Dr Lawrence Tetteh observed his strong will and aggression can be useful to God.

“I saw Shatta Wale’s aggression in a video and I told my wife this man if God gets hold of him, he will be a good preacher.

“Somebody tell Shatta Wale, he can be a very good preacher. He should come and preach with us,” he said.

The memorial was attended by two government ministers – Communications Minister Ursula Owusu-Ekuful whose constituency includes Ebony’s Dansoman residence and Tourism and Creative Arts Minister Catherine Afeku.

Big names in the entertainment industry including Becca, Shatta Wale and sister Deborah all paid their respects to the late music star.

Before praying for the family of the late Ebony Reigns, the pastor asked the gathering to observe a minute silence for the departed promise of the star born Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng.

I am encouraged when people say I am Illuminati – Sarkodie

Hip-Life superstar, Michael Owusu Addo, known in showbiz as Sarkodie, says he is not bothered when people think his continuous rise is because he is a member of the secret society, Illuminati.

Illuminati refers to several groups of both real and fictitious secret society perceived to be controlling events in the world.

Members of Illuminati are believed possess the deep secrets to acquiring wealth, fame and influence.

Since Sarkodie’s meteoric rise to the apex of show business in Ghana, rumours have suggested that he has joined the secret society – like many in showbiz are rumoured to have done.

Although he released a song strategically titled Illuminati in a bid to dispel the rumours, that did not seem to have worked.

Those who claim to have insight into Illuminati symbolism have also sought to criticise him for using them in his music videos.

– Those who claim to under Illuminati symbolism say this hand gesture belongs to the secret group

Responding to the rumours that he is a member of the society on The Hard Truth on the Joy News channel on MultiTV,  Wednesday, Sarkodie suggested that although he is not affiliated to the group, the tag makes him feel positive about his achievements.

“I take it in a positive way…For [people] to make that comparison then it should tell you where you are. I am worried more [about] people who care about me, not what is said about me…I am more worried about family members who [broke down over the Illuminati tag] and it got to them.

“That was the only reason why I did the song. But personally, I don’t care. I think it is a good situation to be in [when] people feel like there is something more than just talent that can make you who you are,” he told show host Akosua Konadu.

In the song he released to dispel the rumours, Sakordie said he would have been an owner of an estate in Hawaii had he been a member of the secret society.

Superstition about Ebony’s death irritating – Father

Father of late dancehall artiste, Ebony Reigns, is appealing to prophets to stop associating his daughter’s death to voodoo.

Nana Opoku Kwarteng said the superstition about what caused Ebony’s death is so “irritating”.

He is convinced the ‘Maame Hwe’ hit maker born Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng has accomplished her mission on earth and has gone to rest in the bosom of the Lord.

Ebony Reigns, died in a gruesome road accident that occurred late Thursday evening on the Sunyani-Kumasi road.

Some prophets are claiming credit for predicting the sudden demise of the popular dancehall artiste.

In an exclusive interview on KOFI TV, the father appealed to everyone to stop reading meanings into Ebony’s death.

Nana Opoku Kwarteng maintained that, his Ebony was not “immortal” thus would have died no matter what.

“Ghanaians talk too much because they are hypocrites but Ohemaa is ok. Her dressing and everything was on point and I’m proud to be associated with her” Nana Opoku Kwarteng stressed.

Ebony was on board a Jeep with registration AS 497-16, travelling from Sunyani to Kumasi when her vehicle collided with a VIP bus heading in the opposite direction, leading to her untimely death.
