2024 Business Olympics: Our brand isn’t associated with failure – GCB Bank
GCB Bank has announced plans to defend its title at the next Citi Business Olympics, following its record-breaking seventh consecutive win at the 2024 event.
The bank dominated the competition, securing nine medals, including six gold, one silver, and two bronze, marking its seventh straight victory at the prestigious corporate sporting event.
Speaking on Channel One TV’s Breakfast Daily, Muniru Muktar, Customer Experience Manager at GCB Bank, expressed confidence in the bank’s ability to maintain its winning streak in future competitions.
“We have built a brand around Citi Business Olympics and it’s because of GCB so if we chicken out, you must not have that kind of enthusiasm coming when they are doing the Citi Business Olympics.”
“So we still want to be there, but of course, as I said, our brand is not associated with failure, so long as we continue to partake in this thing, I believe that we will always be able to defend our title and bring it back to our bank.”
Ruby Hyde Quaynopson, Retail Sales Manager at GBC Bank, revealed the bank’s strategy for victory, highlighting the intense training regime its players undergo.
She said, “We are dedicated and we have the players, so the strategies we do is that we sit, we plan and we analyse and we strategise. We tell our people because GCB is everywhere across the nation, we tell them to start training way before time and so when it’s one week to the tournament, we all come to the training school and we have intense training.”
The bank’s dominant performance at the 2024 Citi Business Olympics has reaffirmed its status as a top contender in the corporate sporting event.
The event was powered by Channel One TV and supported by 97.3 Citi FM, with sponsorship from Peeva Beverages, Blue Jeans Energy Drink, Bethel Logistics – Experts in Shipping Logistics, Lozaty Lozenges from Unicom Chemist Limited, and The Luckiest.
