Reports say, Ghana’s Black Stars coach, Otto Addo after meeting with the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association has solicited for extra technical team members.
This move comes after Otto Addo furnished the Executive Council of the Football Association with his technical report after Ghana failed to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in Morocco next year.
According to sources, the one time Borussia Dortmund youth trainer explained his decision why he failed to steer the side to secure a spot in the tournament due to a plethora of factors which includes: the late arrival of players, disunity and tension in camp, injuries to key players and many more.
However, he also made a humble plea for additional backroom staff ahead of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers which resumes in March 2025 with games against Chad and Madagascar.
The former Black Stars player is currently being assisted by John Paintsil, Joseph Laumann and Fatawu Dauda.
Ghana failed to win a game in the qualifiers and missed out on qualifying to next year’s AFCON which is the first for Ghana in 20 years.
The team finished at the bottom of Group F with three points after failing to record a win after six games.
Meanwhile, Otto Addo is undecided by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) but widespread reports have suggested that he is expected to retain his job despite Ghana’s AFCON qualification catastrophe.
