Saglemi: Govt committed to ensuring transparency in selecting a partner – Oppong Nkrumah

The government has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a transparent process in selecting a private developer to complete the abandoned Saglemi Housing project.

According to the Minister for Works and Housing, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, about 10 international and local companies have shown interest in bidding for the project on July 8.

The Minister told the media during an engagement that the government will ensure that the selection process is transparent by publishing the evaluation reports of all the bids.

“The government of Ghana is a continuum. There are different administrations—the Kufuor administration, and Mills administration—but there is one government of Ghana. The government of Ghana is going through an open, transparent process to get a developer to complete the Saglemi site. We are clear in our minds that we are doing everything above board and in accordance with the law.

“We are expecting that whoever is putting in a bid is also going to do the same, and in the end, it should be able to stand the scrutiny of time. We have committed to every single bid that we are receiving, eventually, we will publish every single bid.

“We will also publish the evaluation report so that you see for yourselves how the various bids were evaluated. We will publish the decision document, and we will publish the final contract.”
