Sonnie Badu advises gospel musicians to incorporate spiritual qualities into their songs and avoid being overly commercialized
Gospel musicians have been cautioned by renowned gospel musician Sonnie Badu not to concentrate too much on making their music more commercially available.
The famous worshipper stressed the need for a balance with spiritual components, even though he supports the commercial aspect because he sees it as a reward for the craft.
He advised against putting gospel music’s commercialization ahead of its spirituality.
“It is appropriate and beneficial to sell the spirit-filled product. In an interview on Star FM on November 13, 2024, he stated, “You need that balance there, don’t be totally commercialized to forget about the spirituality, you have to blend the two.” That is how you profit from your talent and art.
He asserts that gospel musicians must profit monetarily from the expense of posting their music on internet sites.
“I believe that people are increasingly realizing that gospel music, which is packed with spirit, can be made into a product. “If you are really spirit-filled, you end up regretting not doing what you could have done when you had the opportunity to,” Sonnie Badu continued. “Anyone who puts their song on a digital platform is not doing it for free.”
The gospel singer said that his upcoming “Afro Monty” event, which he is doing alongside Silicon House, will take place on November 29 at Independence Square.
He urged Ghanaians to attend the free event in order to have an amazing experience.
