Tamimu Issah believes the woes of the Black Stars isn’t about coaching alone

Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) Communications Director Tamimu Issah thinks the Black Stars’ problems go beyond just technical difficulties.

The technical staff of the Black Stars under the watchful eyes of Otto Addo has received public backlash after they failed to guide the team to book a qualification ticket for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in Morocco.

There have been widespread calls for the technical team’s sacking after the team’s poor performance during the qualifiers.

Despite the public scrutiny, Issah believes the current challenges of the Black Stars go beyond technical issues and require a more holistic approach to address the underlying factors militating against it.

Sharing his candid thoughts on Accra based Asempa FM, Tamimu questioned the overemphasis on technical matters as the sole root cause of the team’s recent dip in form , pointing to the frequent coaching changes in recent years.

“I don’t think the issue with the national team (Black Stars) is technical alone,” Issah said.

“How many coaches have we changed over the past five years? There are other factors we need to look at as a nation,” he added.

Ghana finished at the bottom of Group F with three points having recorded three defeats and three draws.
