The Ghanaian government has declares a visa-on-arrival policy in an effort to boost tourism during this Christmas season.
The new policy is expected to make travel more convenient for visitors this festive season and it is anticipated to take effect from December 1, 2024, to January 15, 2025.
All visitors to Ghana would be permitted entry at this time without a pre-approved visa.
The program is a component of the “December in GH” campaign, which is a subset of the larger “Beyond the Return” effort, which aims to establish Ghana as a leading destination for culture and heritage travel.
Akwasi Agyeman, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), called the plan revolutionary for tourists hoping to visit Ghana and experience its rich cultural legacy and lively December celebrations.
Kwaku Ofori Asiamah, the minister of transportation, has instructed the different airlines to upgrade their systems as soon as possible in order to comply with the new policy and guarantee its smooth implementation.
The Ghana Tourism Authority invited visitors and partygoers to visit Ghana and enjoy the festivities.
