John Fury reveals his top five boxers of all time: Obviously my son is No.1

John Fury named his all time top five boxers, placing his son Tyson Fury on the top of his list, in a ranking that will surely cause a debate in the boxing world.

The 59-year-old was quick to name his son although he had some trouble figuring out his fifth entry, eventually replacing Evander Holyfield at the last second.

Muhammad Ali was in second place, but there was no room for Floyd Mayweather in his list of favourite boxers.

“Obviously I’ve got to put my son [Tyson Fury] number one,” he told Give Me Sport.

“I’d put Muhammad Ali at number two. Mike Tyson at number three, Lennox Lewis and Evander Holyfield at number five because he did beat Riddick Bowe who I thought was exceptional.

“There is my top five, there is so many and I forgot Larry Holmes. Actually I will put Larry Holmes at number five, he was a great champion and had the best jab in the business.

“There was that many good fighters back then, but the main two will be my son at number one and Muhammad Ali behind him in second.”

As the war of words between Usyk and Fury rolls on, with the Ukrainian insisting that the Englishman is scared to fight him, he unsurprisingly did not feature in his top five.

“There’s only liar and it’s him and his team, he didn’t want the fight,” Fury previously told Seconds Out Boxing
